IGF-1 DES
Price on application
IGF-1 DES is a truncated 67-amino acid form of IGF-1 missing the first three N-terminal amino acids. This modification eliminates IGFBP binding, making it the most bioavailable and potent form of IGF-1 available for research.
Research Profile
IGF-1 DES (Des(1-3) IGF-1) is a naturally occurring truncated variant of IGF-1 that lacks the N-terminal tripeptide Gly-Pro-Glu. This structural modification virtually eliminates binding to all six IGF binding proteins (IGFBP-1 through IGFBP-6), resulting in a peptide that is approximately 10 times more potent than native IGF-1 at the receptor level. IGF-1 DES has a very short half-life of approximately 20-30 minutes, making it particularly suitable for localized research applications. It activates the IGF-1 receptor to promote cell proliferation, muscle hypertrophy, and tissue repair through PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling cascades.
