IGF-1 LR3
Price on application
IGF-1 LR3 is a modified 83-amino acid analog of human Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 with an arginine substitution at position 3 and a 13-amino acid N-terminal extension. These modifications increase its half-life and reduce IGF binding protein affinity.
Research Profile
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 Insulin-like Growth Factor-1) is an engineered variant of human IGF-1 designed for enhanced potency and duration of action. The glutamic acid at position 3 is replaced with arginine (R3), and a 13-amino acid extension is added at the N-terminus (Long). These structural changes dramatically reduce binding to IGF binding proteins (IGFBPs), resulting in a higher proportion of free, bioactive IGF-1 in circulation. IGF-1 LR3 is approximately 2-3 times more potent than native IGF-1 and has a significantly longer half-life. It promotes cell proliferation, differentiation, and anti-apoptotic signaling through the IGF-1 receptor tyrosine kinase pathway. Research applications include muscle hypertrophy, metabolic regulation, and cell biology studies.
